New Delhi: In the face of growing pressure and criticism on the issue of completion of stadiums and other infrastructure in time for the Commonwealth Games, scheduled to begin from the 3rd of October, Organising Committee chief, Suresh Kalmadi continues to be extremely confident about the preparations.
In a conversation with NDTV, Kalmadi claimed that the Games village "is the best in the world and is even better than the one in the 2008 Beijing Olympics". (View here)
"All the stadiums are one of the finest in the world and athletes will really enjoy themselves here", he added.
The deadline for the handover of the stadiums is scheduled for August 1 and with many facilities yet to be made fully functional and a lot of work still left, saving the country from getting embarrassed in front of the world looks to be a tall order for Suresh Kalmadi and company.
