XMAIL FC EMERGE CHAMPIONS IN 2ND DATUK HAMIDIN AMIN CHALLENGE TROPHY VETERAN 9S FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Kuala Lumpur XMAIL FC emerged champions of the .2nd Datuk Mohd Hamidin Amin Challenge Trophy / XMail FC Veteran 9s Football Tournament in Taiping on Sept 17.








KLXMFC defeated Majlis Perbandaran Kuala Kangsar on penalty kicks 3-0 after match ended scoreless draw after extra-time.

Congratulations coach V. Kalimutu, team manager Tuan Singham, captain Mohamad Sham and players. Also to the support staff.













Congratulations also to Xmail players:

A. Balan - Best Goalkeeper

Siva Kumar - Man of the match (Final)

V. Kalimutu - former national player and member of Munich Olympics qualifying squad member (Most Senior player - 76 years old).

Sincere appreciation and thank you to FA of Malaysia deputy president Datuk Siva Sundaram, representing the FAM President Datuk Mohd Hamidin Amin, to be present in Taiping and give away the prizes to the finalists.

Likewise sincere appreciation to Insp La Paula from IPD Taiping for gracing the opening ceremony.

And not forgetting the well wishes who supported this tournament and a special thank you to M. Mohgan, the local co-organsing chairman for all his assistance to make this tournament a success.

And thank you to New Club management where we had our official dinner on Sept 16.

We may have the 3rd edition next year in another town in another state - maybe Kuala Pilah or Tampin in Negri Sembilan or Jasin or Merlimau in Malacca.

A shout out too to RS Murthi and his friend Dr Mahadev who entertained us during the dinner on Friday night.

Thank you all for making it a successful and enjoyable tournament.

We may have the 3rd edition next year in another town in another state - maybe Kuala Pilah or Tampin in Negri Sembilan or Jasin or Merlimau in Malacca.







IN MEMORIAM

A special plaque was presented to Madam Laksmy (mother) in memory and appreciation of my and XMail FC friend. 

Sutheyinderan  Balachandran (Mike), a true bred Taipingite and supporter of XMail FC during the opening ceremony of Datuk Hamidin Mohd Amin Challenge Trophy XMail FC Veteran 9s Football Tournament in Taiping  on Sept 17.

He passed away recently. Gone too soon at 55.

May he rest in peace.

Always will be remembered with fond memories by XMail FC.

TOURNAMENT

A total of 5 teams competed in this second edition, where the teams played a one-round league before the top two teams qualified for the final and the 3rd and fourth placed team played in the 3rd and 4th placing playoff match.

The fifth team received a commemorative medal.

Final placings of the tournament:

Champions: KL XMail FC

Runner-up: Majlis Perbandaran Kuala Kangsar

Third: Navishini, Taiping

Fourth: Taiping Chinese Recreation Club

Fifth: University Malaya Old Boys.

Top Scorer Award: Mohd Nizam Ismail - MPKK (3 goals)
