Afterall, it is the duty of the State FAs to be involved in the development of the game.
At least with some aid, the present academies can grow and also give more opportunities for poor children to participate by admitting them without any fee charged.tony mariadassnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3768522212510989220.post-21510381115069965422009-08-06T18:49:24.155+08:002009-08-06T18:49:24.155+08:00Hey Tony,

The innocents and passion of the game will die once politics comes into play especially at their tender age. We all have seen how State FA's killed their district and state leagues. All that left is "one day carnivals" called Karnival Merdeka, a sad excuse for grass root development. They then submit their annual report with JOB DONE!!!
Leave the kids be. I for one like what i see in both these leagues and even the royal selangor 7's last weekend. lets these kids play in such a league, they will develop...mind, skill and composure for the game. We should encourage such a move and with more initiatives like this, we will have bigger pool of players for Malaysia.

P.s. By the way are the organisers including teams from other states in future.

VedrahAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3768522212510989220.post-17333474748484174542009-08-06T18:25:54.110+08:002009-08-06T18:25:54.110+08:00Dear Tony,

Its refreshing that these programmes are taking shape finally. I am an avid follower of the National Junior League thats plays at Dataran PJ every weekend. Like you said it has 24 teams from all around klang valley. However, the little league in Subang is only for Subang residents kids and no other teams participate.
I hear of a junior coaching programme plans in the pipeline from the organisers of National Junior league and FAM. The likes of Lester can get more details from them.

David PangAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3768522212510989220.post-66368582161749680982009-08-06T10:27:29.288+08:002009-08-06T10:27:29.288+08:00Dear Lester Tan,
Thank you very mu...Dear Lester Tan,
Thank you very much for your comments. And I commend you for what you are doing, although you are not a qualified coach. We certainly can do with more like you Lester.
As for some form of formal qualification, the various State FAs conduct preliminary coaching courses from time to time. I suggest you contact the FA of Selangor or Kuala Lumpur FA to check when is the next course scheduled. If you are a teacher, FA of Malaysia and the State FAs have special courses for them.
Keep up the good work Lester!tony mariadassnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3768522212510989220.post-31888979582020019992009-08-06T00:20:36.487+08:002009-08-06T00:20:36.487+08:00i coach kids in my residential area in PJ some eve...i coach kids in my residential area in PJ some evenings. well, i TRY to coach them. that's because i am not a qualified coach. what i know i picked up from books and from the internet.

where would a parent go to get some kind of qualification? Do FAM have any programmes for parents keen on coaching football?

i also coach basketball and badminton but i don't have any qualification in these sports either. i figured it would be better for the children to have some form of guidance than none at all.

wouldn't it be great if sports associations in the country had coaching programmes for parents. we certainly would be less reliant on for-profit initiatives if there were such programmes. what's your take on this, tony?

Lester TanAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
