JAPAN CONTINUES TO SOAR

ACWS Day2 morning session

Japan continued their domination in the Asia Cup Women championship at the GBK Softball Stadium when they stamped their authority over India to defeat them 12-0 this morning.
Japan had the game wrapped up early, when they had 10 runs in the first inning itself, before picking one run each in the next two innings to seal victory after the fourth inning.
It was not an easy passage for China against Korean in the first match of day 2 this morning when they won 6-2.
China had to wear off the Koreans before they could pick up their first five runs only in the fourth inning.
But the Koreans with their never-say-die attitude replied with two runs in the fifth inning.
However, China eager to win the game had two more runs in the sixth inning before ending the game with the final score at 6-2 after seven innings.
It was China’s second win after having defeated India 15-0 in their opening game on Wednesday.
For Korea it was their second consecutive loss after having gone down to defending champion Japan 12-0 on the first day.
In the other morning match, Chinese Taipei also won their second consecutive match when they downed Hong Kong 11-1. They had earlier defeated host Indonesia 11-0 on the first day.
Chinese Taipei were consistent and picked up one run in the first inning, three in the next two and four in the fourth before Hong Kong had a consolation run in the fifth inning to end the game.
It was Hong Kong’s second consecutive loss, having gone down to Philippines 10-0 on the first day.
Host Indonesia, as much as they tried hard, they found it hard to match the Philippines in the other late morning match.
Philippines who has several Phil-American players on their team proved formidable and trying to cope with the fast pitching caused further problems.
Philippines had two runs in the second and six in the fourth to end their game with 8-0 win after the fifth inning.
In the afternoon session, Singapore will play Chinese Taipei, where the latter should book their berth to finish among the top six in the Asia Cup which will serve as a qualifier for the Asia-Oceania Olympic 2020 to be held in Shanghai in September 2019. The top six Asia teams, other than Japan (as host) will qualify.

The other match will see China take on Thailand and the former should also book their berth with their third consecutive win.

2nd Day morning results:
Chinese Taipei 11 Hong Kong 1
China 7 Korea 2
Japan 12 India 0
Indonesia 0 Philippines 8
